ICU/CCU Nurse

This is a PRN/Agency position.

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in critical care nursing and demonstrate exceptional patient assessment skills. This role requires a compassionate approach to patient care, particularly for those with complex medical needs, including geriatrics and individuals with developmental disabilities. The RN will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients while adhering to HIPAA regulations and best practices in hospice palliative medicine.

Duties

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU setting.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
  • Monitor vital signs and respond promptly to changes in patient condition.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care effectively.
  • Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatment plans, and discharge processes.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient information, including ICD-10 coding as necessary.
  • Assist with procedures such as dialysis and other specialized interventions as required.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • Experience in ICU or critical care nursing preferred.
  • Knowledge of hospice palliative medicine and senior care practices is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with Durable Medical Equipment (DME) is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Strong understanding of patient assessment techniques and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems for documentation purposes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with healthcare teams and patient education.
