Medical Technologist (MT)
Shift: 10:00am to 6:30pm
*** Must be familiar with the hospital lab setting and with blood bank, chemistry, hematology and quality control checks.
We are seeking a Medical Technologist (MT) to join our Hospital Laboratory Team in Chicago, IL. If you are interested in a great opportunity as a Medical Technologist (MT) please apply.
Duties:
- Perform laboratory tests and procedures, including PCR, CT scans, phlebotomy, DNA isolation, RNA extraction, and assay analysis.
- Follow standard operating procedures and maintain aseptic technique during all laboratory procedures.
- Collect and process specimens for analysis, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of results.
- Conduct data management activities, including recording and analyzing test results, maintaining accurate records, and preparing reports.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies, ensuring proper functioning and availability of necessary materials.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide accurate and timely test results for patient diagnosis and treatment.
- Adhere to quality control measures and participate in proficiency testing to ensure accuracy and reliability of laboratory results.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the laboratory by assisting with inventory management, laboratory organization, and other administrative tasks.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in medical technology or related field
- Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) preferred
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Proficiency in performing laboratory techniques such as PCR, DNA isolation, RNA extraction, and assay analysis
- Experience with data management systems and laboratory information systems
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures accurately
- Strong analytical skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with healthcare professionals and provide clear test results
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) preferred
